Tawa Venturers inside a plastic bag

Tawa Venturers showed that they could all get inside a plastic bag. In this case it was a bubble made of 4 large plastic sheets (bought from the $2 shop for covering floors when you are painting) and a lot of sticky tape. The sheets of plastic were joined to make a large rectangular 3D shape. Then a small fan was inserted in one end to blow up the shape.

'Closed for Good'

Scouts Tawa would like to thank the BNZ for encouraging their staff to do community service on 4th of November. A group repainted large areas of our scout hall and sorted our archives. Thankyou so much for your help.

Jamboree 2008

Scouting Tawa

The Groups
We now have a Kea Club, which started in Term 1 2009. Most unusually for Tawa, there are spaces in all the groups.

Kea Club meets on Tuesdays from 5.30pm – 6.30pm.
Tawa Cubs meet on Wednesdays from 6.45pm to 8.15pm.
Tawa Scouts (Tuesday Scouts) meet from 7-9pm on Tuesdays at Tawa Hall.
Redwood Scouts (Thursday Scouts) meet from 7-9pm on Thursdays at Tawa Hall.
Tawa Venturers meet from 7-9pm on Mondays at Tawa Hall.

If you live in Tawa and your child would like to join any of these groups just ring 0800SCOUTS and ask how to get in touch.

Last term the Keas learnt what it means to be a Kea and made treats for Easter, the Cubs went camping to Brookfield Scout camp, the Tawa Scouts invaded Taupo for a week, the Redwood Scouts went camping in the Wairarapa and were raided by the Cubs. They also burnt holes in the path with their wonderful enclosed campfires. The Venturers signed up for 'Venture 2010' and went tramping in the Orongorongo mountains. All this plus much much more!!
